Cooperative Technical Advisor, 1992 - 1994
Implemented Coffee Cooperative Restructuring component of USAID market sector liberalization project (PRAMS I). Developed and coordinated manager training and farmer extension.
EXPERIENCE
Determined a way to provide Cameroonian coffee cooperatives direct access to the international robusta coffee market for the first time by simply reconfiguring existing processing equipment. This eliminated #middlemen# and reduced costs. Conducted cooperative and democratic education in Africa with cooperatives and farming groups. Educated farmers and cooperative officials, in Creole, about the provisions of a recently enacted national cooperative law. Taught the principles, challenges, and opportunities of coffee market liberalization to Cameroonian cooperative officials and 2000 coffee farmers.
Taught basic accounting, bookkeeping, and cost recovery principles to the managers of 11 village-based Cameroonian coffee cooperatives. The managers varied in their levels of experience, education, literacy, and ability. Advised cooperative management in drafting new governance arrangements that would conform to the new cooperative law, yet be appropriate to the village culture.

I have been trying to reach coffee growers in Cameroon. I want to buy a large quantity of coffee and I have run into many crooks trying to steal money to ship samples. I am trying to reach legitimate coops with arabica coffee to sell.
Do you have ant ideas??
Love to hear from you.
Thanks
