I served in the Peace Corps for two years, from 1997-1999, in Cameroon, Africa. I taught math and physics at a secondary school in a village called Batibo. It was the most intense experience I've had. I met my husband, Philip, and some of the best people I could hope to meet anywhere--other volunteers and Cameroonians. Here are a few pictures from my time as a Peace Corps volunteer.

Hi Megan, I was a Peace Corps volunteer in Batibo in 1996 at Jomatt. In 1997 I moved to Ndop. I knew the Peace Corps volunteer that was at PHS Batibo before you. I am sure all the students told you all about him as well as Micheal Dean. I also married a Cameroonian. If you are in the Philadelphia area please look me up I am sure you have plenty of stories.

Hi I am NIH ROGER FOBANG, and I graduated from PHS BATIBO in 1997. Well, I appreciate so much the work that the Peace Corps are doing there.
Well Megan, we boarded the same Taxi from Bamenda to Batibo sometime in ending months of 1997, and the only thing you told me was you're a peace corps. Later I heard you were married to my Physics Teacher Mr Che Philip. I was happy, and let me say congrats.

I am a former student of PHS Batibo and I am a member of the old boys and girls association (BATAAS). I presently teach French at GBHS Santa. It is thanks to PHS Batibo and volunteers like Megan that I have succeeded in life. My gratitude also goes to Mr.Z.M.Memo and all my teachers from 1970-75

Its amazing what you can stumble across on the internet! Megan, i never met you, but was hoping to get in contact some day. I was the volunteer before you, who left the chalk map of the midwest on your wall! I was also a friend of your husband Philip, one of the friendliest guys i knew during my 2 year stay there. Congratulations to you both!!

I also have very fond memories of my time in Batibo. A great town and a great school, and people definitely know how to make you feel at home! I hope i get a chance to go back for a visit. By the way, i still keep in contact with the Akah family (Akah Andrew and Agnes) and with the Reverend Ntumnyuy. But have unfortunately fallen out of contact with just about everyone else, including Philip. If you get this message please send me an email so i can say hello and catch up. Either scottgwahl@yahoo.com or swahl@kohlereurope.com. Oh yeah, Hi Stan! Send me your address as well!!! Take Care,

Scott
