TILAJARI RESORT - Owned by Jim Hamilton, a former Peace Corps volunteer who remained in Costa Rica, the Tilajari Resort is located in the San Carlos Valley, seventy miles from San José. It is surrounded by 30 acres of gardens and tropical fruit trees overlooking the San Carlos River. You can see crocodiles, giant iguanas and an immense variety of birds from the terrace of your room. You can relax by the swimming pool, play tennis, go horseback riding, canoe or walk in the nearby tropical rain forest. The packages all include hotel and taxes, transportation from San José and all meals. The three-day and four-day packages both include the following guided tours: Arenal Volcano evening tour, Caño Negro Wildlife Reserve, Zacero Park, swimming in Tabacon Hot Springs, Jungle walk, horseback riding and butterfly garden tour. The four-day package also includes a day of caving in the Venado caves or a visit to Fortuna Waterfalls. Prices below are based on a minimum of two people.
