ABOUT COSTA RICA TOURS, LTD.

COSTA RICA TOURS, LTD. (CRT), founded in 1998, specializes only in Costa Rica and Panama. More than vacation trips, our tours are "educational adventures" designed to further an understanding of the process of development in these two countries.

Sandra Feldman, owner of Costa Rica Tours, Ltd., serves as designer, administrator, and tour escort to Costa Rica & Panama. She served as a Peace Corps Volunteer for two years in Venecia, Costa Rica, and over a 25 year career, worked as a specialist in organization and community development in the U.S. and in 15 countries in Latin America and Asia. She has a M.A. in Human Resource Development from George Washington University. In the photo, Sandra is accompanied by schoolgirls in typical dress in Venecia. The painted ox cart is the national symbol of Costa Rica.

Bonnie Birker, manages our Washington, D. C. Area office and escorts tours to Panama and Costa Rica. She was a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Azuero region of Panama. In the photo on the right, Bonnie is wearing a typical "pollera" dress from her region.

She has a Masters in Social Work from the University of Iowa, and has worked as a human services professional in a variety of positions utilizing her expertise in community development, micro-enterprise programs and family economics. Bonnie grew up on a family-owned farm in Iowa, and uses her life-long experience in agriculture and landscaping on her tours.

Costa Rica Tours, Ltd. conducts Open Enrollment Tours during January and February to both Costa Rica and Panama. Our Affinity Group and Customized Tours are designed and conducted throughout the year in line with our clients' interests. We also offer consultation for "do-it-yourselfers" and discount airfare.

OPEN ENROLLMENT TOURS:

Our next open-enrollment tours are in January 2002 and February 2002. Each tour has a pre-set date and itinerary. You can build your own tour by selecting open-enrollment segments for Costa Rica Only, Panama Only, or Combo Costa Rica/Panama to fit your time and budget. One weekend each month throughout the year we arrange tours of Panama with a full transit of the Panama Canal. View our tour descriptions on this website.

EARN A FREE LAND TOUR:

By bringing together a group of friends, family, co-workers or students to travel with you as a Group Coordinator, you will receive up to 100% off your land cost depending on the size of the group you form. We will customize a trip in line with your group's interests, preferred dates and budget. When we customize tours for non-profit organizations, a portion of the receipts goes back to the organization.

WINDSTAR CRUISES:

Want to go to the more isolated areas of Costa Rica and Panama that we don't visit on our land tours? We can book you on Windstar Cruises, a luxury sail/power ship with only 148 passengers and gourmet food! The seven-day Costa Rica Cruise departs from Puerto Caldera with stops at Playa Flamingo, Quepos, San Josecito, Curu Reserve, and Tortuga Island. Also includes a stop in Nicaragua at San Juan del Sur with a land tour to Granada.

The Panama Canal Cruise departs from Barbados and arrives 14 days later in Puerto Caldera, Costa Rica, after stops in Venezuela, Curacao, Aruba, and Panama (including a full transit of the Panama Canal and stops in the islands of San Blas, Contadora, and Coiba).
