Meredith Harris spent two years as a Community Educator for the United States Peace Corps in the Dominican Republic.
Harris Joins GW Academic Support Staff
WASHINGTON, D.C. (December 19, 2000) - Meredith Harris has been named to the position of Academic Support Assistant for The George Washington University Academic Support Office, Academic Coordinator, Karen Ercole has announced.
A 1996 graduate of the University of Richmond, Harris spent two years as a Community Educator for the United States Peace Corps in the Dominican Republic. While in the Peace Corps, she applied for, and was awarded, funding to organize a preventative health workshop for 30 rural health promoters.
Harris also was co-President and Treasurer for the Women in Development Committee at the Peace Corps. Prior to her work at the Peace Corps, Harris worked as a Physical Therapy Aide at the Center for Orthopedics in Fairfax, VA. Harris is currently pursuing a master's of public health degree in international health promotion at GW.
At GW, Harris is primarily responsible for providing academic support to the men's soccer, men's and women's swimming, men's and women's water polo and men's and women's tennis programs and assists with all student-athletes.
