Here is a recent letter from my neighbors. Doesn't it make you want to cry? They are such beautiful people (isn't everyone?). This is the uncut version, and don't pick on their Spanish, alright? It's their second language, too.

Hola Alejandro: te saluda la familia Vasque desde 11 de Setiembre Mbarete. Alejandro, nosotro no le olvide de ti, sin pasar un dia. Tu ya te fuiste de mi barrio pero la familia Vasque siempre acuerda de vos. Alejandro pero algun dia puede voltar acá para pasar una fiesta familiar. Nosotro estamo aca alegriamente pero algun dia estoy esperandote. 11 de Setiembre ante era su lugar y ahora ya era otro valle y siempre esperaba aca dia y dia. Alejandro quiero que me contesta desde Estado Unidos.
Estoy esperando tu palabra. Familia Vasque le doy mil saludo, para vos Alejandro, mi saludo con todo.
