Nepal RPCV Doug Harms will receive Modesto county's annual Equal Rights Award
The award is given to county employees for their work in promoting equal rights. Harms has been with the county assessor's office for 25 years. The Board of Supervisors' resolution notes that Harms spent two years in Nepal with the Peace Corps early in his career, and serves as co-chairman of the Rotary Club's International Committee. According to a resolution approved Tuesday by the board, Harms strives to treat employees in a nondiscriminatory manner, and works to assure that employees reflect the make-up of the community.

EQUAL RIGHTS HONORS: Stanislaus County Assessor Doug Harms and Agriculture Commissioner Dennis Gudgel will receive the county's annual Equal Rights Award in a ceremony today. The award is given to county employees for their work in promoting equal rights. Harms has been with the county assessor's office for 25 years.
