He died before reaching a hospital. The police said there was no apparent motive for the attack and that no arrest was made. From 1973 to 1975 he was a Peace Corps training officer in Afghanistan and India. He returned to the United States in 1975 and 1976 to work as a researcher at the Maryland legislature. He then came to Malaysia as a Peace Corps training officer.

A Peace Corps training officer from Brooklyn was stabbed to death Saturday night by a group of people as he left a bar here, Gary Brennaman, a local Peace Corps director, said today.
Michael J. Quaid, 38 years old, was stabbed by three to five people as he walked out of a bar in downtown Kuala Lumpur, Mr. Brennaman said.
He died before reaching a hospital. The police said there was no apparent motive for the attack and that no arrest was made.
Mr. Quaid was graduated from St. Bonaventure University in 1965 and earned his law degree from St. John's University Law School in 1968. He then joined the Peace Corps and for four years served in the Indian city of Mysore.
From 1973 to 1975 he was a Peace Corps training officer in Afghanistan and India. He returned to the United States in 1975 and 1976 to work as a researcher at the Maryland legislature. He then came to Malaysia as a Peace Corps training officer.
