Humenycky completes Peace Corps service

Lydia Humenycky, 26, of Irwin, completed her service in the Peace Corps last month.
For more than two years, Humenycky has been serving in Kpalime and Notse, Togo in West Africa, as a small business development Peace Corps volunteer. Upon returning home to the United States, Humenycky plans to re-enter the public relations field.
Humenycky graduated from Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she earned a bachelor's degree in business administration in 2003.
Prior to joining the Peace Corps, Humenycky worked as an assistant account executive for MARC USA, a public relations agency.
Humenycky has continued the Peace Corps legacy in her family. She succeeds her aunt, Gloria Humenycky, 62, who served in Malawi, Africa, from 1966 to 1968.
Humenycky was one of the 319 Pennsylvania residents serving in the Peace Corps.
