Jim Walsh marks final days in office
“That's the amazing thing about this process. The congress churns on and the players change, and so, I really feel the job, for my part, is done. It's time to move on and time for somewhat else to do it.” Congressman James Walsh of New York served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Nepal in the 1960's.

Syracuse, New York (WSYR-TV) - A congressional career spanning 2 decades is down to its final days.
Syracuse Republican Jim Walsh is retiring after 20 years in the House of Representatives.
Tuesday morning, as the boxed archives were piled most of the way to the ceiling in his district office, Walsh said he's ready to move on to a life beyond public service:
“That's the amazing thing about this process. The congress churns on and the players change, and so, I really feel the job, for my part, is done. It's time to move on and time for somewhat else to do it.”
Walsh says he's considering several offers for positions in the private sector, but wouldn't name any of them.
He said he might write a book on his role in brokering peace in Northern Ireland.
Walsh will be succeeded in the 25th district seat by Democrat Dan Maffei.
