Syracuse, New York (WSYR-TV) - Congressman Jim Walsh is counting down the days until his retirement from Congress, but his 20 years in office won't be forgotten.
On Tuesday, the Onondaga County legislature recognized Walsh for all of his hard work, pointing out what he's done for veterans as well as the time he's dedicated to cleaning up Onondaga Lake.
Walsh received a gold seal resolution at the ceremony.
“I was able to do a lot for my community,” says Walsh. “I was really satisfied with what I was able to accomplish – you can’t do everything, but you can do what’s doable, and I think I did.”
Walsh says he is working with Congressman-elect Dan Maffei on his transition into office, and he says Maffei is ready to take over.
