Bring us up to date on your life after the peace corps:
I went back to work in Cameroon in 1994-96. Diallo and I were together from '88 until I left in 1996 and tried to make it work long distance for a while after that. We have a son who returned to Oregon with me when he was four years old. I went to Grad School then became a teacher in an International High School program in Eugene, Oregon. I still think about going back when I retire. Sometimes I wonder if my friends there are still living when I hear that 1 in 14 Cameroonians have HIV!
Any thoughts you have now looking back on peace corps days?:
I wish I had realized earlier that it was about doing whatever you can to help and not trying to force success in the project you were assigned to. I would have done tutoring and health education and everything else that was needed.
Anyone you are looking for or would like to hear from?:
Carol Ann Hooks, Gloria Blackwell White, Cindy Cain, Anne Marie Choup, Lisa Kuennen.
