Soraya Bilbao of Bridgeport has joined the staff of United Way of Coastal Fairfield County as its community impact implementation manager.
Before joining United Way, Bilbao worked locally at the Bridgeport Child Advocacy Coalition, RYASAP, United Way, and the Volunteer Center of Greater Bridgeport.
Local United Way President Merle Berke-Schlessel said Bilbao will serve as the link between the organization’s community impact agenda and the partners it engages to bring about community change. “She knows the community well and understands what is needed to create social change,” Berke-Schlessel said of Bilbao.
