Work Description:

rural community development/ODC in Bonao. then Agrarian Reform in Palenque with a program using with 6wk ag training , I began by reporting on 15 Ag Reform sites for new volunteers, helped training and then began in Palenque. Helped by PC agronomist we fostered use of fertilizer, insect/disease control control, cultivation techniques forming coop and community development groups.

I later belonged to RPCV groupa in PR in 1980s and in Charlotte NC 1999-2009.

Bring us up to date on your life after the peace corps:

Married in DR 1969, moved to NY, then worked in Mexico 1976 and Venezuela 1977-80(pharmaceutical ind) and Puerto Rico 1981-90 (Insurance/investments/real estate). Moved to MA 1990-4 (worked in human services) and Charlotte NC 1994-2009 (banking).

Any thoughts you have now looking back on peace corps days?:

recently contacted friends from DR17 and enjoyed reminiscing and reconnecting. I married (1969-90) a DR national, although now divourced, have remained involved with Latins in community and work
