[Excerpt]
Jade Bradbury celebrated the arrival of her Social Security birthday with an afternoon blast of fellow artists and friends at the home of weaver Anne Lamborn. Husband Bill Kalogeres presided over the barbecue of succulent pork and chicken, while the sunroom held a groaning table of side dishes.
The nearly 100 celebrants toasted the LG Museum and Town Council Chamber's curator into the night. When your friends are artists, each card received is "a small work of art," as Jade put it. Spanish-speaking guests brought tears to listeners' eyes with their musical tributes to Jade.

In addition, this internationally-known weaver teaches at Camphill Communities California in Soquel and has served in the Peace Corps in Guatemala.
