Guinea RPCV Joshua P. Bowman marries Hannah Newfield-Plunkett
Mr. Bowman, 32, is in his final month of studying for a Ph.D. in mathematics at Cornell. In September, he is to become a lecturer in mathematics at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He graduated summa cum laude from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn., with a joint degree in mathematics and music. From 2000 to 2002, he served with the Peace Corps teaching mathematics in Guinea, in West Africa.

Hannah Newfield-Plunkett and Joshua P. Bowman were married Saturday at Christ Chapel in Ithaca, N.Y. The Rev. Steven D. Felker, an Evangelical priest, performed the ceremony, with the Rev. Barbara G. Schmitz, an Episcopal priest, taking part.

Mrs. Bowman, 22, graduated from Cornell in May with a joint degree, summa cum laude in English and magna cum laude in mathematics.
She is the daughter of Mady Newfield and Robert K. Plunkett of St. Charles, Ill. The bride's father is a physicist at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory in Batavia, Ill. Her mother works in Chicago as a teacher of folk and traditional dance and also teaches English as a second language.

He is a son of Marjorie A. Bowman and Jerry H. Bowman of Memphis. The bridegroom's mother is a saleswoman at Davis-Kidd Booksellers, a book store in Memphis. His father is a software developer at the Last Check, a company in Germantown, Tenn., which makes software for the processing of checks.
