Goetz teaches advanced placement English language and composition, survey of British literature and the Scriptures. She is coordinator of the Annual Subiaco Literary Symposium and Student Council co-adviser. She recently served as steering committee chairwoman for the Independent Schools Association of the Central States and the Arkansas Non-Public Schools Accreditation Association accreditation process. Subiaco, a Catholic boarding school for eighth through 12th grades, has operated in Subiaco since 1887.

Subiaco Taps New Dean Of Academics

Subiaco Academy's new academic dean is someone already familiar to students and staff - Cheryl Armstrong Goetz.
According to Headmaster Michael Burke, Goetz has taught at Subiaco for eight years and will assume her new role on July 1.
Burke said he's thrilled Goetz agreed to the appointment.
"After working with Mrs. Goetz over these past two years, I'm convinced that her appointment as academic dean will make Subiaco Academy a better school," Burke said in a news release.
Goetz teaches advanced placement English language and composition, survey of British literature and the Scriptures. She is coordinator of the Annual Subiaco Literary Symposium and Student Council co-adviser.
She recently served as steering committee chairwoman for the Independent Schools Association of the Central States and the Arkansas Non-Public Schools Accreditation Association accreditation process.
Subiaco, a Catholic boarding school for eighth through 12th grades, has operated in Subiaco since 1887.
Goetz holds a bachelor's degree with honors in English and literature from Lyon College.
She holds a master's degree in English from Arkansas State University.
During her 23-year career in education she taught English to seventh- through 12th-graders, taught world literature and freshman composition I and II as an adjunct professor at Black River Technical College at Pocahontas.
Goetz taught English as a second language in the Peace Corps in the Solomon Islands, and has served as supervising teacher/Pathwise mentor for two teacher interns.
