Doyle talks more about future
"I think having a really good, robust campaign on both parties with good candidates is going to be really good for Wisconsin," said Doyle. Still, the governor says he's not about to let up. "We've got a lot of great accomplishments over the last six-and-a-half years," said Doyle, "but there are a lot of things we can do in the next year and a half. I love the job, I know how hard I work at it, and I know I would have a lot to offer in a third term, but I do think the system generally works better with two terms in these jobs." Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle and his wife served as Peace Corps Volunteers in Tunisia in the 1960's.

SUN PRAIRIE (WKOW) -- It was back to business for Gov. Jim Doyle after Monday's announcement that he will not seek a third term in office. He spent the day in Sun Prairie, Wis. talking about the future of health care, but everyone wanted to know more about his future.
Monday, Doyle mentioned he was "not going to pull a Brett Favre" on us, and he invoked Favre's name once again:
"I saw Brett Favre is apparently going to sign [with the Vikings] today, so maybe I'll have second thoughts, after all," said Doyle.
The governor says he has spoken with a few possible candidates, but he would not say which ones. He says he is encouraging everyone who wants to get into the gubernatorial race, and he restated his reason for stepping aside.
