UW-Milwaukee alum Peter Tase recently completed an innovative dictionary titled Simultaneous Dictionary in Five Languages. The 500-plus page dictionary includes English, Spanish, Italian, Albanian and Guarani translations.
According to Tase, the dictionary encompasses helpful, general terms and phrases that could help anyone from teachers to students, as well as professor and doctors.
"Hopefully this project will bring cultures closer together," Tase told the Post. "I hope I can revitalize culture through language."

After returning from Paraguay, Tase felt a strong urge to preserve and spread the knowledge of the Guarani and Albanian languages.
HIHis dictionary has made waves throughout Paraguay and the United States. It is currently in Harvard and Marquette Law School libraries, as well as right here at the Golda Meir Library.
Country Director of Peace Corps Paraguay Michael Eschleman noted that "Tase has taken another step in furthering the communication and mutual understanding so desperately needed in the world today … [The dictionary] is an opportunity to see each of the cultures represented here through [a] prism of that fundamental element upon which they rely and survive … language."
"I am really interested in the evolution of language and words," Tase said. Aside from pursuing law school in the future, Tase plans on furthering his study of language by focusing on the evolution of different languages.
