Georgia RPCV John Michael Murphy to marry Carol Stroud Murphy
After graduation from Blue Valley High School in Stilwell, Kan., in 1991, Jeremy earned bachelor degrees in both physics, and astronomy from the University of Kansas in 1996. He was awarded a PhD in astronomy from Ohio State University in 2005. Jeremy is a theoretical astrophysicist, researching cosmology and galaxy formation. He was employed as an associate fellow of the Kavli Institute for Cosmological Physics at the University of Chicago and is presently a fellow at the Berkeley Center for Cosmological Physics in Berkeley, Calif. Prior to his employment, Jeremy spent two years serving with the Peace Corps in Ghana.

Carol Stroud Murphy, Dundee, Fla., and Glen Summit, Mountain Top, formerly of Windermere, Fla., and John Michael Murphy, Windermere, Fla., are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Erin Elizabeth, to Jeremy Lawrence Tinker, son of William and Susan Tinker, Overland Park, Kan.
Erin is the granddaughter of the late Mim and Bill Stroud.
She is a 1991 graduate of West Orange High School and a magna cum laude graduate of Dartmouth College in 1995 and Harvard Law School in 1999. Erin is employed as an assistant professor of law at the University of California Berkeley's Boalt School of Law, specializing in criminal law. For the 2009-2010 academic year, she accepted invitations to be a visiting assistant professor for a semester each at New York University School of Law and Harvard Law School.

Erin and Jeremy both reside in Oakland, Calif. A wedding is planned for June 5 in California.
