After graduate school, he worked with the Peace Corps in the Cape Verde desert in West Africa for two years. Heber Springs, Ark. -

Each April, Gamma Beta Phi hosts an appreciation dinner for the faculty and staff at ASU-Heber Springs. Gamma Beta Phi purchases, prepares, and serves the food in an effort to show our gratitude for all of the hard work that these people do each year.
Each year members of Gamma Beta Phi also select one full-time staff member, one full-time professor, and one adjunct instructor, to be given an award recognizing them for their outstanding work. With all of the capable and dedicated people that work at ASU-HS, trying to narrow down the nominees is usually a daunting task for Gamma Beta Phi. This year the recipients are Karen Cooper, full-time staff member; Justin Barnum, adjunct instructor; and Mary Comstock, full-time faculty member.
