Steve Driehaus Defeated for re-election to Congress
Incumbent Democrat Steve Driehaus conceded the race in Ohio's 1st Congressional District to Republican Steve Chabot Tuesday night. Chabot had 52 percent of the vote to Driehaus' 45 percent with 99 percent of precincts reporting. Chabot lost his seat two years ago when a tide of "change" voters went to the polls and gave Chabot's long-held seat in Washington D.C. to Driehaus. Now the theme of "change" is center stage again as Chabot regains his seat. "We will be back," Driehaus said in his concession speech. Senegal RPCV Steve Driehaus was elected to Congress in 2008. Driehaus had served in the Ohio House of Representatives since 2001 and has served as Minority Whip since 2005.

CINCINNATI - Former U.S. Congressman Steve Chabot is getting his seat in Congress back.
Chabot served seven terms in Congress before losing to Driehaus in 2008.
He is an attorney by trade and previously served as a Hamilton County Commissioner and Cincinnati City Councilman.
During a recent televised debate, Chabot responded to a question on the economy by saying, "We need to get the spending in Washington under control, it is absolutely out of control. It wasn't as fiscally disciplined as it should have been under Republican control it's completely out of control since the Democrats took over completely two years ago."
Ohio's 1st Congressional district includes the western half of Hamilton County and four townships in southeastern Butler County.
"We will be back," Driehaus said in his concession speech.

Big Omission in Comprehensive Report

Read the report and our commentary on the big omission in the third goal that committee members didn't address, discuss, or even mention.
Memo to Incoming Director Williams
PCOL has asked five prominent RPCVs and Staff to write a memo on the most important issues facing the Peace Corps today.
