Work Description:

Taught chemistry and physics in the University and then science in the high school. Extended to become involved in the family planning movement and worked in the Puericulture Centers in the Bicol Region. Married the most beautiful and gracious Filipina in the world in 1971 before heading to Hawaii.

Bring us up to date on your life after the peace corps:

After PC, studied at Univ of Hawaii for MSPH and returned to PI as an Overseas Population Intern. Worked with Dra. Fe del Mundo as a Research Associate on the Rockefeller Hilot (Traditional Birth Attendant) study in Marinduque, Mindoro, and Carmarinez Norte. Went to Johns Hopkins for doctoral studies and then joined the faculty in the UCLA School of Public Health in 1982.
