Here is a collection of links related to the Peace Corps in Gabon. These web pages contain a lot of good information about what you might expect based on some other people's experiences. (These are the same links that show up in other emails, just cleaned up a little bit. I think the original source of them was Michelle Cochran. Thanks, Michelle.)

Peace Corps Crossroads
http://www.concentric.net/~jmuehl/links.shtml
Very busy site, which includes a searchable database. It's good for looking up other new volunteers, and for looking up returned volunteers. Also has links to many other Peace Corps sites, and a huge guestbook.

Maison Monghidi
http://www.rgpayne.com/maisonmonghidi.shtml
This is a site for RPCVs and is maintained by Glen and Jennifer, who both served in Gabon. The message board has informative postings from RPCVs, including a number about Gabon security issues. There are also some photos.

Heather Nix - PCV Gabon, Sep 1999 - 2000
http://www.msu.edu/user/nixheath/pcv~1.htm
Heather is a recently returned Gabon volunteer. This site was started by her boyfriend and contains many photos.

Alison Graham - PCV Gabon, date?
http://www.gbgm-umc.org/wheadon/Gabon.htm
Read a good letter from Alison, with photos.

Kristin Snyder - PCV Gabon, Oct 1998 - 2000
http://www.geocities.com/ribbits42/KristinGabon.html
Kristin returned from Gabon in December. She was a Fish volunteer. Read a summary of her experiences.

Lynne Kraskouskas - PCV Gabon, Oct 1998 - 2000
http://forestry.mtu.edu/peacecor/lynne.htm
Lynne is part of the Master's International program and worked with agriculture. This webpage has some of her letters which talk about her life and work responsibilities. Also has some photos.

Stacy Jupiter - PCV Gabon, 1997 - 1999
http://emerald.ucsc.edu/~sjupiter/Peace_Corps.htm
Stacy is a recently returned volunteer from Gabon. This web page has excerpts from her journal as well as a few nice photos.

Leslie Sheppard - PCV Gabon, Jul 1996 - 1998
http://userweb.nashville.com/~jeff.jenkins/leslie.htm
Leslie was a construction volunteer. This site contains several long letters from Leslie to his mom and friends, as well as a few photos. The letters are very honest, detailed, and personal. They give the reader a good feel for one volunteer's thoughts and emotions during the first year of service in Gabon.

Gabon Pictures-RPCVs photos

A couple of interesting pictures from RPCVs, with short commentary.
