Peace Corps Programs in Haiti

Peace Corps Programs in Haiti

Haiti is in rapid socio-economic and political transition. While change is inherent in development work, the democratic transition Haiti is undergoing is unique in its history, representing an exciting challenge and new potential for its government and its people.

To know Haiti is to become enchanted by it, drawn to its mystery and its beauty. It is an endless assortment of proverbs that convey a timeless wisdom and a burst of sun on a sandy beach. It is a land where physical labor is unusually hard, yet the people incredibly cheery. Peace Corps Volunteers experience this on an intimate level and feel that they take as much from their experiences in Haiti as they give.

Peace Corps Volunteers are currently working in three program areas: Small Business Development, Agricultural/Environment and Rural Health Education.
