Extension Unit Educator, Youth Development, University of Illinois Extension
Chris Anderson is a Unit Educator in youth development for University of Illinois Extension in the Sangamon-Menard Unit.
He earned a BS in agriculture and a master of Extension education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Chris served with the Peace Corps in Haiti before joining Extension. He was the 4-H Youth Adviser in Sangamon County for four years before moving into his current Unit Educator position in 1992.
His 4-H assignment includes working with 4-H committees and volunteers, organizing 4-H Clubs and 4-H Cloverbud groups, planning and administering youth workshops and events, and training volunteers. Chris networks with other agencies to address youth issues and provide programs to school-aged youth and their families.
Chris enjoys woodworking, camping, boating, walking in the woods, mechanics, and electronics. He also likes motorcycle sports. He and his wife, Julie, have two children – Justin (6) and Kelsey (3).
