Public Schools. Participated in a Fulbright Teacher Exchange: 1996-7 to
Latvia. Currently teaching ESL with DoDs in Baumholder, Germany

My name when in the PC was Elizabeth Sanders Gardner. Divorced 1975.
After PC, I worked for Project Hope, finished my MA thesis at Georgetown,
returned to Alabama to teach in a black high school; then got an adjunct
teaching job at Auburn Unniversity. In 1973 entered Cornell University.
Completed ph.d in American politics in 1978. Taught at Rice University, then
at New School in NYC. Married Richard Bensel in 1979. Now a professor at
Cornell University, Department of government. One son, now 22. Last book
(1999), "Farmers, Workers, and the State" won Greenstone Prize. First
book won Kammerer Prize. Would like to hear fom Chile 65 vols.
