I got an M.A. at UC Davis, a Ph.D at the U of Utah, and now teach fiction writing at Central Connecticut State University. I have published two novels: THE ROAD TO THE ISLAND (1998), which is set in Connecticut, and IN THE CITY OF THE DISAPPEARED (2000), which is set in Chile and based on my experiences in the Peace Corps in the late 1970s.
