WEBSTER -- John A. Pappas, 56, of 156 Lake St., an engineer, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, in Milford-Whitinsville Regional Hospital, Milford, after a long illness.
He leaves his parents, Arthur J. and Tefta "Tess" (Kontaxi) Pappas of Webster; two sisters, Ann L. Axtman of Dudley and Lisbeth E. Tonna of Webster; nephews, nieces and a grandnephew. He was born in Webster and graduated from Bartlett High School and Wentworth Institute. He attended the University of Arizona. He was in the Marine Corps and served with the Peace Corps in British Honduras.
Mr. Pappas was a civil engineer and a project engineer. He was a member of Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church. He enjoyed traveling.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, in Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, Lake Parkway. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery. Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, in Robert J. Miller Funeral Home and Lake Chapel, 366 School St., with a Trisagion service at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, Lake Parkway, Webster, MA 01570; or to another charity.
