Peace Corps Online: Frequently Asked Questions: How do I find posts I have made on the board?
By mike osborn (majoroz) on Wednesday, March 20, 2002 - 4:03 pm: Edit Post

Why have four recent postings of mine been deleted, while preceeding and succeeding posts remain?
Could it be (nah.........you could never do such a thing) that they do not adhere to the party line?

cheers

One good way to find your old posts when you are looking for them is to go to the "Search" menu near the top of the left frame and do a search on your last name. Make sure to set the "Look in" field to "Names of Authors". Then click on the link to take you directly to posts you have made on this board.

PCOL reserves the right to delete posts which do not meet our guidelines. Please read our policy regarding censorship and editing of posts at:

Will Peace Corps Online censor or edit my posts?

However, none of your posts has met these criteria and none has been deleted. For that matter no post to PCOL has been deleted since we started over a year ago.

Just this once, here are copies of the posts you have made on this board and where to find them.

Best Regards,

Admin1

"This is the most politically manipulative behavior that
any of us has (sic) ever witnessed"

....say what ?

You folks must be from out of town.

PC is the most PC organization in North America
(well....maybe second to Boulder Colorado)

If you don't want the nominee to be confirmed, say so. But
don't whine and bitch about who is watching the store while
the process works itself out.

We ?
I supported the nomination of Vasquez. As it disagreed with
local editorial policy, it was not shouted from the
housetops.
But.......I agree with the editorial. It is time for all us
RPCV's to get with it and support the agency.
Perhaps with Vasquez in the saddle, PC can return to its
original meaning rather than its leaning, in the last twenty
years, toward Polically Correctness.

Sorry, Joey.......perhaps I wasn't clear.

It is the usage of the initials "PC". They were always used
to mean Peace Corps. But, in recent times, the initials
have been increasingly meant Politically Correct.
It does not reflect any specific administration, but,
rather, the increasing tendency for the country directors to
require PCV subjugation under the guise of cultural
sensitivity.
As to jargon, cliches, or disparagement of other volunteers'
work, I don't know what you are referring to.

cheers (anyway)

When should the Peace Corps return to Afghanistan?

I am in general agreement with the above comments. It is
too soon to send in any PCV's. There is still inter-tribal
warfare and will be even after all the coalition troops
leave.
If PC must send anyone in, they should try to glean
applicants to send in older, experienced international
travelers, perhaps military veterans who have applied to PC.

As I do not watch all that much TV, I must have missed the
part where it was reported that Peace Corps was to become
part of the Freedom Corps.
Could someone lead me to a reference?

thanx
