Hello, My name is Connie Coutu and I am the Regional Director for AYUSA (Academic Year in the USA) in South & Central Texas. We have a few high school students from the Middle East coming to Texas on a groundbreaking program this year. The Partnerships for Learning Youth Exchange & Study (YES) Program was approved in 2003 by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational & Cultural Affairs (ECA) to conduct youth exchange with predominantly Islamic countries and the United States. A consortium of partners lead by AYUSA International will cooperate with ECA and US Embassies to recruit students and provide scholarships from countries which may include Gaza, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Pakistan, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, West Bank, Yemen, etc. These high school students will spend an academic year here attending the local high school in the area of their host family. We are currently looking for host families that will open their hearts and homes to host one of these unique scholarship students in this groundbreaking year of the program. Students have their own personal spending money and full medical insurance. If anyone would be interested in more information, please log onto our website:
http://www.ayusa.org or call me toll free at 1-866-320-4258. Thank you.
Sincerely, Connie Coutu
