RPCV Robert Rosenberg (Kyrgyzstan, 94-96) will be reading from his acclaimed new novel, THIS IS NOT CIVILIZATION, at Politics and Prose Bookstore in Washington D.C., on Monday, August 9th, at 7pm.

The novel, published by Houghton Mifflin, explores issues of the Peace Corps and American volunteerism in Central Asia, and eventually in Istanbul before the 1999 earthquake. It deals with themes of national identity, privatization, and globalization.

The book has received strong reviews in The New York Times, The LA Times, The Christian Science Monitor, and New York Newsday, among other places. It has been chosen as a Book Sense 76 pick and a Borders Original Voices selection.

All RPCV's and those interested in the Peace Corps are welcome. Come out and support a fellow RPCV! More information on the book and the reading can be found at:
