Ready for a Transition? Become a teacher.
Transition to Teaching seeks talented men and women dedicated to the mission of improving the lives of urban youth. Individuals who have a degree and applied experience in math, science, or a related filed can receive 24 graduate credits in education at the University of Kansas while being compensated as a full-time teacher by Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools.
In addition to the gratification that comes with making a difference in a high-needs urban school, Transition to Teaching candidates receive: an intensive summer training in classroom instruction; ongoing support and mentoring by qualified classroom teachers and clinical instructs; 24 graduate credits towards a Master’s degree through the University of Kansas School of Education; a full-time teaching contract with benefits in a Kansas City, Kansas middle or high school; a $2,500 per year stipend; and a Kansas State Teaching License.
