Chickasha Rotarians to hear The Beef Message
This week's noon luncheon meeting of the Chickasha Rotary Club, will be highlighted by a presentation from the Executive Director of the Oklahoma Beef Council, Heather Buckmaster.
Buckmaster grew up on a wheat-stocker operation in Hydro, Okla. She received her B.S. degree in Agricultural Economics from Oklahoma State University in 1991. Looking for a challenge, Buckmaster then spent two years working for the U.S. Peace Corps as an agricultural extension agent in Gambia, West Africa. She then returned to OSU for her Master's degree in Agricu1tural Economics.
Recognizing that the beef industry was in her blood, after graduation, Buckmaster spent seven and a half years working for the Colorado Beef Council as the Director of Marketing where she was responsible for multiple program areas. During this time, she worked with major foodservice and retail companies in developing promotions to drive beef sales, directed media budgets for both television and radio, as well as oversaw sports marketing programs with the Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies, and Colorado Avalanche. In January of 2005, Buckmaster moved home to serve Oklahoma's farming and ranching families as the Executive Director of the Oklahoma Beef Council.
Interested persons are welcome to attend as a guest of the club, by contacting Charlie Burruss at (405) 222-8806. The event will be held Thursday April 21 at the Chickasha Hotel.
This year Rotary celebrates its centennial. To learn more about Rotary and its programs visit www.rotary.org or call your local Rotary Club President Gary Laird at (405)-224-1554.

 | Friends of the Peace Corps 170,000 strong 170,000 is a very special number for the RPCV community - it's the number of Volunteers who have served in the Peace Corps since 1961. It's also a number that is very special to us because March is the first month since our founding in January, 2001 that our readership has exceeded 170,000. And while we know that not everyone who comes to this site is an RPCV, they are all "Friends of the Peace Corps." Thanks everybody for making PCOL your source of news for the Returned Volunteer community. |
