The Westchester (NY) Chapter of the United Nations Association of the USA (UNA-USA)would like to invite RPCV's to become involved and join. UNA-USA is a grassroots organization educating Americans about the UN and related policies, engaged in advocacy for the UN and strong, positive US leadership in the UN. Our chapter holds educational programs on global issues, works with students and faculty in schools and colleges, holds an art contest with Yonkers school children and is producing a video with them called "Peace Makes the World a Better Place." We are also producing a series called "Going Global with the UN" for Cable Access TV.
We have chapters throughout New York State, and welcome your participation. I would be happy to put you in touch with our other chapters --just let me know where you live. While I was not a PCV, I worked with many in Togo, and think RPCVs would make wonderful UNA members (we already have a few.)
Reach us at firstname.lastname@example.org, and visit www.stratdev.com/UNA-USA/. For information on the national UNA-USA, see www.unausa.org
Your membership will demonstrate your support for the United Nations as it embarks on reform, and tries to achieve the Millennium Development Goals that were set out by 189 Heads of State in 2000.
