Senator Larry Bomke introduced SB2493 which would amend the state universities pension code to allow recognition of U.S. Peace Corps volunteerism to count as 2 years of service credit toward retirement benefits. I urge your membership to lobby the General Assembly for the passage of this measure as it would honor the efforts of those RPCVs who are presently educating the youth of our great state of Illinois.
