1. Volunteer Project Assignment: ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND CAPACITY-BUILDING with Yayasan Mitra Mandiri (United Way International affiliate)

Responsibilities: Volunteers will work closely with Yayasan Mitra Mandiri in Jakarta, as well as with Board members and local NGO partners, to provide skills-building training sessions and one-on-one coaching to help build organizational capacity. Key areas of focus include, but are not limited to: implementation of UWI Global Standards; strategic planning; grants management; Board governance; donor and stakeholder relations; volunteer management tools; effective reporting procedures and standardization of reporting formats.

Skills and Qualifications: Volunteers must be skilled professionals with organizational development and non-profit management experience and should possess expertise in one or more of several key areas: strategic planning; budgeting and finance; business/nonprofit management; proposal writing and reporting; board development; external and community relations; and staffing or human resources. Experience living/working in Indonesia or Malaysia, and proficiency in Bahasa Indonesian is highly preferred.

Location and TENTATIVE dates: Orientation at UWI headquarters in Alexandria, VA from 2-3 November 2006. Assignment based in Jakarta from 6 November to 1 December.
