I am very interested in applying for PC, but from looking at the webpage it seems like having a college degree is important prior to joining. I am currently working on my bachelors, but am thinking of taking a couple years off to join.

Can anyone tell me how much of a factor that is in getting accepted?

It depends, if you have experience that is needed then you could qualify ... But why not finish the degree and then join?

Paul:
As Anonymous stated, experience sometimes allows an applicant to qualify for Peace Corps. It is much more infrequent today than it was in the early days of Peace Corps (the 60's-early 70's). If you qualify for Peace Corps service without the degree, there is a new program about to be announced that would allow you to use some of your Peace Corps experience as credit towards a degree. Watch for the announcement, but keep plugging away on the degree regardless.
