I've discovered that visiting a retreat center occasionally is a great way to renew my energies, find focus and balance in the world.
Visiting such a place deep in the outdoors can revive many a Peace Corps Volunteer.
In the Washington, DC region, we're fortunate to have the Friends Wilderness Center near Harpers Ferry, WV. This is a little-known, unique, rather rustic, Quaker retreat site welcoming all, amidst a remarkable and private wilderness preserve. Their prepared meals in the Cabin are yummy!
