I'm a RPCV (Guatemala) of Asian (Chinese) decent. During my time in Guatemala I was affectionately called Chinito, generally accepted by my community, respected for being Asian, and had an overall wonderful cross cultural experience. I'm doing a little research for a project.

I'm curious as to how other RPCVs of Asian decent were perceived in their respective country. In what country were you stationed? How were you treated? Were locals familiar with Asians or Asian Americans? Was there an Asian community/presence in the country? Are you male or female, were you percieved differently based on your sex? Any interesting stories?
