Hello, I'm an HIV+ individual and am very much interested in becoming a volunteer. Do you know of any HIV+ applicants that got accepted? It is on the list of conditions at the medical Clearance section of the Peace Corps website that says that they are not "typically" able to provide accomoditation for. Which is Ironic, since it looks like 50% of the Peace Corps work is helping people with HIV. Anyway, any suggestions or cases that you know of? Should I even bother? please email me. Thank you very much.

I talked to my buddy who spent several years in the Peace Corp and he said "YES!" - you should definitely apply!

Personally, I would think that it would even be an advantage in HIV-related causes, in that there would be a volunteer who could really relate to the patients and people. Of course, you don't know until you apply - but both my buddy and I say "Go for it!"

Good luck!
