A group of RPCV's in Portland, Oregon got together a few years ago with the dream of building a museum to house the art and artifacts brought back to the USA from their host countries. The plan also was for the museum to tell the stories of the volunteers and of their host countries. A number of exhibits have been put on in Portland over the years. With the 50th Anniversary of Peace Corps approaching in 2011 the Committee for a Museum has partnered with the Oregon Historical Society to put on a major exhibit of Peace Corps memorabilia.
