I am going to be going to Western Russia (not exactly sure where yet) in August and I was hoping to find someone who could share with me some hints or what to expect. Any info you have would be greatly appreciated as my travel experience is not too extensive!!

Thanks in advance!

Does anyone know where Kimberly Rosen is these days (Russia '94 - '96) and her e-mail address? Kim and I were in grad school together, then I served with PC in Ukraine around the same time Kim was in Russia. Last time we met was in Kyiv in 1998 - curious to see what she is up to. Thanks.

Dear RPCVs,

I was a volunteer in Slovakia and now work at the Worldwatch Institute in Washington, DC.

Worldwatch is looking to strengthen ties with groups that address/ promote sustainable development within countries in transition. We are seeking to establish partnerships on a variety of levels. For example, we'd be interested in working with groups interested in translating our research or in working with a research group where foreign researchers could come here to Worldwatch to do fellowships among our research staff. I was wondering if you might have the names of some prominent publishers or NGOs in Russia that you would think would be suitable to approach on this issue.

Any ideas you have would be truly appreciated!

Thanks,

Susan

I worked for PC/Western Russia in 1992-1995 as a PCMO together with Joanne Polka. Now I leave in Israel (since 1996), I have obtained here a PhD degree in health sciences and currently I am back to clinical medicine: I am a resident in pediatrics at the Soroka Medical center in Beer Sheva. I need help: does anybody phone # of Joanne Polka or RPCVs that live in Chcago? I soon will be there.

I am an RPCV (Kyrgyzstan 198-2000). I am currently in graduate school and doing research on second language acquisition. I am particularly interested in the acquisition of Russian by Peace Corps volunteers. I am wondering if anyone would help me out by taking a couple of short tests!

Thanks,
Natalie

Dear RPCVs from Russia,

I'm an RPCV from Turkmenistan (2002-2004) and wanted to make you all aware of a potential NGO opportunity in Moscow. I'm back in school and our Global Health Organization brought the director of "Children of Leningradsky" (www.childrenofleningradsky.com) to screen the film for us. Her NGO Active Child Aid is in dire need of help- youth workers/counselors to NGO management advice to fundraising to trainers for local staff. If interested email Hanna Polak at hannapolak@cinematographer.pl with your contact information, how you’d like to help, whether you are willing to travel, and let her know if you can speak Russian.

Thanks!
Kim

I am an RPCV (St. Kitts 1985-89) and am trying to locate RPCVs, Kristina Gunhill and Judy Neiman, who served in Saratova, Russia in 1993 and 1995 respectively.

I am going to do a short business consultancy there with the Saratova Women's Business Club in August 2002 for ACDI/VOCA.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Neil Mann

Hi, everybody! I am Eddy Ling, since 1992 to 1995 I have worked for Peace Corps Western Russia as a Medical Officer togerher with Joanne Polka. It was a great experience and I still remember these great days and great people I have worked with. Now I live in Israel, I have worked in medical research for 7 years here, I became a PhD in molecular biology and now I have returned back to clinical medicine and currently I am a resident in pediatrics. I will be in Chicago in September. Perhaps, you could help me: I am looking for a phone number of Joanne Polka or other RPCV from Western Russia who live in Chicago.
My e-mail is as follows: ling@bgumail.bgu.ac.il
Thanks a lot
Eddy
