The piece by Giorgiev did not surprise me at all. After being treated as a "stain" on many occasions during my P.C. service in Bulgaria, sometimes to the point of tears, I couldn't wait to get the hell out of there. My fond memories of this country sadly revolve around the food, scenic beauty, and fascinating anomalies (including the piglets in trunk). Yes, I made some friends but the Bulgarians in general made me feel less than welcome. I now live part of my year in Mexico, where the people accept me for who I am rather than where I come from.

Teresa, i'm realy sorry for the fillings you have had about Bulgaria in early 05. I trully believe you spare the fond memories more than sad ones.
Probably you've met the vrong people here in BG and confront them. I do want to believe, It's not only the pleasant food you keep in memories from Bulgaria.
If you want to recollect friends from Gabrovo, you can contact me on my address.
Yours:
Irina&Georgi
