Other Countries you served in, Training Group Name Arrival Year, Departure Year, Work Description:
NONE, But want to go back anytime...I need it
Bring us up to date on your life after the peace corps:
Never quite reculturated (problem with accepting American cultural values) to this day...tried to teach in American Public Schools/could not; tried to teach in a penitentary/better, but the cons are only more mature brats; have tried several different types of employment/failed because still have problems with value systems in value system of Americans; now unemployed and looking for somewhere that I can contribute my gifts....to someone that wants them
Any thoughts you have now looking back on peace corps days?:
It was so neat to live among people that loved me for what I am, not for what I had in material terms. They accepted me without expectation of what I was supposed to be. They only knew that I had knowledge to freely share with them and that they wanted and needed it.
Anyone you are looking for or would like to hear from?:
Anyone, particularly Kiribati volunteers. Would be nice to know how things have changed in 10 years. At the time I left there, they were just getting satellite radio and TV...probably ruined the whole thing ! ! !
Any message for returned volunteers?:
A quote from "THE PROPHET" by Khalil Gibran "You give but little when you give of your possessions. It is when you give of yourself that you truly give." -1923 RPCV's, we know what he meant...THE PEACE CORPS RULES
