Hello,
I am a Peace Corps Volunter in Romania from PA. I'm currently working on a PCPP (Peace Corps Partnership program) to instal a Central Heating System in a school facility. For those of you unfamilar with a PCPP, it's where Americans donate to projects that volunteers are working on in their host country (Romania for me). I've already gathered 1,600$ and now only need 1000$. I'll be finishing here in June, so the pressure is on for me to find donors. If anyone is interested in my donating or in PCPP's please go to the following link:

or contact me at thormelvin@yahoo.com

thanks,

Hello. I am an RPCV ( CI and Togo) from 30 years ago. I have the opportunity to go to Romania - to a orphanage in Targoviste for 10 days with a Rotary International project. Any thoughts on public health issues and instruction? Where to get materials, posters on HIV , etc? Volunteers in that area? A Rotary club was formed in Targoviste to support the improvements for the girls' lives. I leave in August. Linda Watkins

I am trying to locate a former colleague, who I believe was assigned as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Romania: Jerry Dahlstrom. Any news or contact information for him?

Thanks,

Hi!
My name is Sebastian, I am from Romania and I was wondering if one of you can help me; here`s the problem: 5-7 years ago, I was in my highscool in Mangalia, Constanta county. At my highschool came Owen Altermann from Detroit,Michigan, as one of the Peace Corps members. In time we became friends and when he left Romania he gave his e-mail adress so that we can talk over the internet; the thing is that I tried to contact him after 9\11 but no response. When he left Romania he was going to Harvard, I think. If one of you knows him or has his e-mail adress( the present e-mail adress), I would really apreciate if he gave it to me; at least one info about Owen.
Thank you
Sebastian

I was born in Bucharest and just returned after an absence of 41 years. I would like to serve as a volunteer for the peace corps here in Romania later on next year after I retire at age 62.
I worked all my life as a draftsman, and did attend Sierra College in California, where I got a cabinet maker certificate. I have a lot of college points, but do not have a degree. I do speak both Romanian and English and would like to hear from previous volunteers if my backround is of any help.
My name is Razvan and hope to hear from anybody about their past experiences. By the way I am 61 years old.

I am a former Thailand PC Volunteer and will be in Romania June 29-July 4, 2007. Will visit Cluj, Bistrita, Tschippendorf, Brasov, Oradea, and would be happy to bring along anything a PC Volunteer might like (American food items, etc).
Also would like to visit the orphanage that Ilie
Coroama started in Bistrita (we used to help out when Bad Aibling Kaserne was still open), so would appreciate it if someone has the tel. no. so we don't just try to drop in. Thanks,

Hello to everybody!
My name is Stefan and I am 26yo and I am a medical resident in Brasov. I am interested in tutoring romanian to PC volunteers. I've tutored some volunteers in Cluj-Napoca like Patty, Dana Bea Pickell, Anna Berroa and Matt.
I already have the US Embassy materials for the job. So, if interested, please contact me at sevastrus@yahoo.co.uk
Best regards,
Stefan
