Hello, I am a bicycle builder from Portland, OR. In January I will be taking a trip to Namibia via Cape Town. My plan is to take one of my bikes and ride back to Cape Town from Luderitz. I would like to establish some contacts in the area before I take my trip to discuss logistics, safety and the best possible route.

I am interested in learning more about the transportation needs, as well as, sustainable development projects that are going on in Namibia at the moment. I have worked on sustainable development projects in the past in Southeast Asia and in the U.S. and currently the bicycle company that I co-founded works to develop a more sustainable product by building our bikes out of bamboo and locally made products. I will complete my trip on one of my bamboo frames this January and would love to see some sustainability projects on my way.

If you are interested in discussing your projects or could help supply me with information of the area I would appreciate the feedback. Also, feel free to see what my company does at: www.daedaluscycles.com

Thanks, Jacob
