1993: Carol Loveless served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ecuador in Loja beginning in 1993
Returned Peace Corps Volunteer Carol Loveless can be contacted at clldloveasbcglobaldnet
Country of Service: Ecuador
Training Group: Omnibus 69
Cities you served in: Loja
Arrival Year: 1993
Departure Year: 1995
Work Description:
Youth Development
Worked with elementary-aged children associated with a comedor program (Fundacion Reinas De Loja)
Bring us up to date on your life after the peace corps:
My husband and I came back to Texas. We worked in our field of social work (he as a marriage/family therapist) and I as a director for a non-profit youth service organization.
Currently, we own a painting business and have two daughters.
Any thoughts you have now looking back on peace corps days?:
It was an eye-opening experience that allowed me to understand and scrutinize the country I live in better. Living in a different country, speaking a different language and living in a community totally different than mine was an experience I will never be able to equal again. I loved it, but am thankful for where I live and the place I am in personally even more.
Anyone you are looking for or would like to hear from?:
Anyone from my Omnibus 69, or other volunteers who've served in Loja; specifically I'd love to know if there has been others who've served in my agency "Fundacion Reinas De Loja"
