Peace Corps Staff Member Joseph A. Czajkowski dies in Deleware
Joseph A. Czajkowski
Joseph A. Czajkowski, of Rehoboth Beach, died on Sunday, Aug. 8, at the Lewes Convalescent Center. He was 82.
He served under R. Sargent Shriver to establish the Peace Corps in 1962. While at the U.S. Department of Urban Development, he implemented innovative on-site daycare and disability facilities.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Agnes Nemec; four children; five grandchildren; four sisters; one brother; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Aug. 12, at St. Edmonds Catholic Church, King Charles & Laurel Streets, in Rehoboth Beach. Burial will be at Delaware Veterans Cemetery South, near Millsboro.
