Welcome! Asian World Imports seeks to bring you the finest crafts from the ethnic tribal groups and artisans of India, Nepal, Thailand and Vietnam. Our interest in the crafts of native peoples dates back to 1964.

On regular visits to these countries, we personally select traditional designs, or items already beautifully made. But more importantly, as a member of the Fair Trade Federation, Imports from AsiaJeff works closely with the native producers helping to innovate marketable designs, improve working conditions, and offer fair living wages for producers, some of whom have been working with us for over 16 years! Asian World Imports puts people first!

NamasteOur shop and gallery in Blue Hill, Maine is “a treasure trove” offering a wide range of prices and variety of products. Our collections include jewelry, paper goods, boxes, dolls, locks, artifacts, statues, beads, clothing, masks and drums, ritual objects and items too numerous to mention. It has been said that our shop offers the “most comprehensive collection of Asian crafts and artifacts” ever seen by many of our appreciative customers. “This is like being in a museum in which you can buy the things on display.”

Our web site is still under construction and we have many more items we will be posting on this site. We welcome your feedback.

Be sure to check out our other informational links below to learn more about Asian World Imports’ mission, our producers and our shop in Blue Hill. We invite you to visit us or join our mailing list.

Teresa Heinz Kerry celebrates the Peace Corps Volunteer as one of the best faces America has ever projected in a speech to the Democratic Convention. The National Review disagreed and said that Heinz's celebration of the PCV was "truly offensive." What's your opinion and who can come up with the funniest caption for our Current Events Funny?

Exclusive: Director Vasquez speaks out in an op-ed published exclusively on the web by Peace Corps Online saying the Dayton Daily News' portrayal of Peace Corps "doesn't jibe with facts."

In other news, the NPCA makes the case for improving governance and explains the challenges facing the organization, RPCV Bob Shaconis says Peace Corps has been a "sacred cow", RPCV Shaun McNally picks up support for his Aug 10 primary and has a plan to win in Connecticut, and the movie "Open Water" based on the negligent deaths of two RPCVs in Australia opens August 6. Op-ed's by RPCVs: Cops of the World is not a good goal and Peace Corps must emphasize community development.
