I am not a former PCV, but I'm trying to locate a friend of mine, named Ken Petersen, who was. He was in Sri Lanka in the late 80's early 90's. I'm unsure as to what area he was in.

I lost track of him in 1998 when he left for Uzbekhistan for a nine month State Department Grant.

Does anyone know how to get in touch with him?

Whereas… memories of the green hills of Kandy, Sri Pada at sunrise, a rainbow-filled bus ride to Nuwara Eliya, the patio upstairs at the Ottery are fading…

Whereas… it’s been too long since you ate pol sambol, kiri hodi, string hoppers or drank arrack…

Whereas… elephants walking down city streets, hartals and curfews, a cold sarong-clad bath at the well, a coconut-husk dish cleaner, that charming head wobble that means neither yes nor no are all still a part of who you are today…

You are hereby invited to help plan a Peace Corps/Sri Lanka Reunion!

Possible date: Summer 2006.

Possible location: A geographically central location in the US and/or wherever someone who has a very large house can host the main party or in Sri Lanka.

Reason to do it: Eat curry with your old Peace Corps pals, share slides, memories and current life path stories…

Who: Any former Peace Corps/Sri Lanka volunteer and staff and their families.

Join the Yahoo group Nikong_Enna to help plan or just stay in touch.

I'm trying to locate Karen Courtright (Batch VI)who served as business consultant in Girandurukotte from 1986-1989. I was a Canada Crossroads volunteer in Girandurukotte in 1987. We both resided at the Development Center and she was extremely helpful in linking me up with a fellow who provided Sinhala lessons. I really appreciated her support. She shared her knowledge of the culture and the community. If anyone knows her whereabouts, I can be contacted at carp underscore per underscore diem@yahoo.com
